We’re thrilled to unveil an upcoming event that promises to be a captivating fusion of architecture and color: Exploring Grey with a Splash of Color. Join us on June 5th at 6 PM for an unforgettable evening at the newly restored First Church of Christ Science, located at 440 Elm Ave, Long Beach, CA.
Tour of Architectural Marvel
Led by COO and co-owner, Vijay Goel, this event kicks off with an exclusive tour of the award-winning First Church of Christ Science. This building, designed in the classical revival style in 1913 by the esteemed California architect Elmer Grey, has been meticulously restored to its former glory. Vijay will guide you through the rich history of the building. View its architectural intricacies, and the restoration process that earned it the prestigious 2024 Long Beach Heritage Preservation Award for Adaptive Reuse.
Immersive Color Exploration
Following the tour, dive into the world of historic color trends with me. From the elegant palettes of the early 20th century to the vibrant hues of the psychedelic 60s, I will uncover the stories behind these iconic colors. As an illustration, have you ever wondered about the origins of the avocado green kitchen trend of the 1970s? I will reveal the fascinating history behind these trends and more. Afterwards, I will also be selling and signing a limited number of copies of my book Chromatic Chronicles.
Wine and Hors dβoeuvres
No event is complete without some refreshments! Enjoy a glass of wine and indulge in hors dβoeuvres as you mingle with fellow architecture and color enthusiasts.
